Undergoing hundreds of years toughness and hardness, and having the brilliant history, the subsidiaries of Sine's group such as Sine Laboratories, Yan An Laboratories, Jicheng Plant, the No.1 Biological & Chemical Corporation and former Jiufu Pharmaceutical Corporation are all the earliest national chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises of modern China.

   SINE -- Sine Laboratories was founded in 1924 by Dr. Max Joffe and druggist He Zikang. In 1937, Dr. Max Joffe withdrawaled his share, so Sine became a real national pharmaceutical enterprise. Sine was well-known for her high-quality products, Vitaspermin, Sulfathiazon in 1930s and 1940s, and became the first large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturer in Far-East.

     As a growing up national pharmaceutical enterprise, in 1960s, Sine developed "from end to end" technique in injection perfusion and sea, also developed live bacterial syrup for poliomyelitis prophylaxis, Sine also developed novel pharmaceutical preparation such as biphasic aerosol, charta in 1960s. In 1970s, Sine developed long acting oral contraception tablet. In middle 1980's, Sine developed "one-step method" granulation technique, controlled release preparation, high efficiency coating technique and triphase aerosol preparation, which were in the leading place of China. In 1990, the economic index of Sine reached the first place.

   JIUFU -- Shanghai Jiufu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (former Jiufu Pharmaceutical Company) was founded in 1923 and has a history of nearly 80 years up to now. It produced mainly the pills called Bailingji then. In October 1931, it was renamed to Jiufu Chemical Preparation Stock Co., Ltd. and soon it founded the first drug institute in the medical industry with the drink called Lekoufu as its main product. Later it also succeed in inventing a pesticide called 666. Sine the 1960s, the pill productivity of it has been on the top of the medical industry in China. In the end of 1970s, its productivity went to the top of the country with the amount of 11bn pills per year.

    JICHENG -- founded in 1914, Jicheng Laboratory is also an old one of nearly one hundred years. Having a long history and owned the titles of the national famous brand, its traditional products namely prickly hear powder and water toilet are famous both home and abroad. Its eyedrops are also granted of its old brand, good quality and high credit. Currently, its has successfully developed a II-Class new original medicine and pills called Nabumetone for rheumatoid and bond arthritis. The original medicine Minoxidil which passed the FDA, has established in the European and US market.

    YAN AN -- Yanan Laboratories (former the pharmaceutical Dept. of the Sino-France Pharmacy), founded in the 16th year of Guangxu Period of the Qing Dynasty (1890), owned many famous brands both home and abroad such as Yellow, Sucralfate Tablets and Cough Cure and etc. In 1999 founded Shanghai Yanan Wanxiang Phamaceutical Co., Ltd. with Yanan Laboratory as its main shareholder. Its core products such as Diltiazem Hydrochloride Tablets, Isotretinoini capsule and etc, have been sold over 40 countries and areas.

    No.1 Bio-Chemical -- the No.1 Biological & Chemical Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was founded by Shanghai Bio-Chemical Pharmaceutical Laboratory and Shanghai No.1 Pharmaceutical Laboratory in June,1994. Shanghai No.1 Pharmaceutical Laboratory founded in the 32nd year of the 1911 Revolution (1943) was called Fushou Laboratory by the Japanese merchant and on January, the 35th year after the 1911 Revolution it was renamed to the Central Bio-Chemical Pharmaceutical Laboratory Dept. of Shanghai Pharmaceutical Laboratory with it main products of Glucose, vitamin C, vitamin B1. In 1952 it developed successfully a medicine called Phthalylsulfathiazole, and also the vitamin B1. In 1982 its productivity reached to 1.5 million tons and the export reached 36.27%of the country's total export. Shanghai Bio-Chemical Pharmaceutical Laboratory founded on 15th,August 1937 was the former Yangshi Cure Institute. In 1985 a new factory was founded in Minhang District according to the GMP with the 5 main products of protein, amino acid, Peptides hormone, Lentinan, nucleotide and 71varities of medicines including 22 powder for injection and 14 solution for injection.
